INTA Volunteer Spotlight: ALLAN JARRY
With over 25 years of experience working in IP in Chile and throughout Latin America, Allan Jarry founded Jarry IP boutique in 2013, providing clients with efficient and cost effective management and enforcement services for their trademark portfolios. He also provides advice to his clients on how to most profitably commercialize their IP assets, including advice on government incentives, venture capital opportunities, technology transfers, and other local business opportunities and idiosyncrasies.
Allan attended his first INTA Annual Meeting in Orlando in 1995 and has only missed a few since then. At that meeting, he was fortunate to meet Benoit Barme, IP Director at Groupe Danone France, who not only helped him navigate INTA’s currents but became his friend, mentor, and client. Today, Allan serves as a member of the Leadership Development Committee.
Gandhi’s teaching, “Learn as if you were to live forever; live as if you were to die today,” is what inspires Allan to make the best of his two worlds—work and family. In his work world, he helps to create companies and helps them grow, generating jobs and opportunities for others. In his personal life, it allows him to cherish every moment with his wife and their five children. Allan says, “Both worlds make me jump from the bed every morning.”
Having lived, worked, and studied in the United States, Allan is fluent in English. He is also the founder and first president of the Chile Licensing Executive Society. In his spare time, he rides mountain and road bikes to help him maintain a sharp mind. To satisfy his hunger, he loves Chilean barbeque (which he claims is better than Argentinean barbeque).
